March 2009 Claudia Photographs Baby Portrait for Milestone Package

Photographing a Milestone session is always a highlight of my day. Here is little Annabelle for the third session: once in Mom's tummy, once as a newborn and now as a 4 month old cutie. This is such a great way to document the first year and I love seeing the babies grow and change which they do so quickly! This is a great group baby shower gift. Please call for more information.

March 2009 Nantucket Portrait Series by Claudia-Part 2

What a wonderful experience working with Nantucket families in my own studio. Can you tell who are siblings here? Thanks again to all my wonderful island families who allowed me to photograph your kids for these wonderful portraits.

March 2009 Baby Fuller's First Portrait Session at Two Weeks

Newborn portraits are so special and magical for me. It is really a witness to the newness of life and the parents' love for their new little baby. I photographed Johnna while she was pregnant so that makes it extra special for me to see the baby finally here.

March 2009 Glena and Mian Get Married!

It was an honor to photograph Glena and Mian's wedding this past Saturday. It was a glorious March day on Nantucket and the love this couple shared warmed the chill in the air. The kids at their wedding were incredibly adorable so I wanted to feature a few pictures of them!

March 2009 Children's Studio Portrait Series

Wow, I'm tired! I spent yesterday afternoon and this morning shooting 33 portraits in my studio and that was before I went off to shoot a wedding this afternoon. This project has been so much fun. Here are a few of the portraits and there will be more to come. If your child is not here yet please be assured that the photographs all were great, but I need a little more time to get them up.
Thank you to all the families that came in and I wanted to let you know that these are straight out of the camera and not worked on yet. I appreciate all your efforts and your wonderfully spirited kids!

March 2009 Studio Portrait Series by Claudia

This weekend I will be photographing 18 Nantucket families with a total of 34 children in my studio as a way to hone my studio lighting skills. My two girls were my first models today as I prepare my studio and work on lighting as a way to challenge myself with something new. The lighting on Anjali (top) is a little flat and low and so I moved the lights a little to make this one of Sonia more modeled looking and less flat. I also added a light to the seamless on Sonia's shot to pop the white. These photographs were taken with one SB900 in a 30x40 softbox off to right side and about three feet from the subject, one SB800 on a floor stand behind the subject and pointing to the white seamless and one SB800 on the left of the model pointed at a reflector on the floor. All of these Speedlights were powered by my Nikon wireless commander for a complete wireless system.
More coming soon as my models file in tomorrow and Saturday. (I have a wedding on Saturday too! Yikes!)

March 2009 New Project Begins: 90 Ballerinas

I've taken on a rather large "personal" project. I call it personal because it is something I am doing for the love of photography and kids, not because I was hired to do it. My two small daughters are in the Nantucket Community School's dance program along with 88 of their peers. They needed a kick-off to their May performance, so I am photographing and creating a slideshow of images to music to be shown right before the little dancers come on stage to perform their Disney show.
The room where they rehearse presents a problem to me as a photographer: no window light (not a window in the room) and those completely loathed fluorescent lights overhead. My sweetheart just bought me Joe McNally's fantastic book "The Moment It Clicks" and has his upcoming one on hold for me. While I've studied with Joe and he completely astounds me with his energy and knowledge of lighting, I am definitely going to have to step up to the plate here with some gels over my lenses and light sources which for now is a single SB900.
When the girls are finished they all receive a sticker so that is the last shot.
More soon as I tackle the project which entails shooting 7 different classes and 90 ballerinas.

March 2009 A Visual Diary: A New Concept for CKP

A Visual Biography: I love this concept. This little clip was produced for my WPPI talk and I have just added it my bio page on my website as a way of introducing myself to my clients and give a little insight into me as a professional as well as my personal life. I love what multi-media can convey: the feeling that music adds to images and how multiple images can tell a story. I have received wonderful feedback on this piece and think it's something I'm going to explore more of for personal work.
90 Ballerinas: New Project. I just accepted a HUGE project to photograph 90 little girls in ballet classes here on Nantucket and produce a slideshow to music for their grand finale in May. I am really excited about this project because it is totally mine to be creative and photograph it the way I want to and what better subject than tiny little adorable ballerinas?

Spring/Summer 2009 Well Wed Magazine Features Real Wedding on Nantucket by Claudia Kronenberg

Well Wed is a sweet little magazine that totes a cool design with unparalleled photography and it is an honor to have a feature wedding in it from Nantucket last spring. Nantucket weddings are so warm and wonderful and have an element of elegance paired with a relaxed overall feeling: a perfect combination. This wedding was very special and was planned by Aisling Glynn of Acktivites, floral design by Soiree Floral, the amazing cake, by Jodi's Cakes, matched the bride's dress, the videographer was Lisa Frey of Nantucket Event Media, makeup by Mandy McCleave of The Calming Room, hair by Andrea Marie Salon, tent by Chase Canopy and location was the White Elephant, Nantucket.
I have worked and lived on Nantucket for over a decade and I truly believe it to be of utmost importance to hire vendors that live and work on the island. Being an island, Nantucket has its little quirks and local vendors have the resources to tackle the challenges presented to them, whether it be a delayed shipment, weather issues or anything. Nantucket is a destination wedding locale that offers everything within its 20x5 mile confines and yet is close enough to "America" not to be too expensive to travel to: A perfect destination location!

March 2009 ClaudiaK.com Features New Portrait Slideshow

It's not everyday that a photographer is invited to speak at MGM Grand in Las Vegas and so it was very important to me to showcase my wedding and portrait work in the best way possible. Here is the result of many years of portraiture on Nantucket and in Boston and the hard work by producer Maura Kate Moore. Thank you to all my many clients whose weddings I have shot and whose children I have watched grow up. I am passionate about my work and seeing it all come together like this makes me feel so blessed that I can pay my bills doing what I love: photography and creating memories for so many families.
I recently received this note from the co-founder of Triple Scoop Music who upon seeing this piece wrote, "My partner Roy just shared your slideshow featuring our artist Nancy Farkow's song "I Wish You Love". I have to say that this song combined with your AMAZING images just had me grinning from ear to ear and even getting misty eyed at the end and I don't even have kids. Not only is this such a joyful blessing of a song for us, but your images are so darling, so full of life and whomever put together the slideshow down to the timing of the edits did a fabulous job." And then in a subsequent email she says, "I see a lot of cool art from our photographer friends but sometimes certain pieces just really touch me in a deeper place." Wow! Okay, that made me feel so so wonderful and fulfilled as an artist and creator!
I also showed it Skip Cohen, president of WPPI and this is what he had to say as well, "I love it and great choice on the music too...Thanks for sharing it with me-I loved it and your images were great!"

March 2009 Claudia Kronenberg Photography Posts New Wedding Slideshow

New Wedding Slideshow! Click on the image to see the latest compilation of images from my wedding photography over the years. This slideshow was premiered in Las Vegas at my WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) platform presentation last month at MGM Grand and even makes me smile. I have to say that it makes me so proud and feel so fulfilled in my life career to see it all come together in the short 6 minutes here and I am inspired for the next season's images. Thanks to Maura Kate Moore for producing an amazing piece and taking the hundreds of images to make this so gorgeous. And thanks to Triple Scoop Music for offering the best music completely licensed for usage.

February 2009 Claudia Kronenberg Shoots Pregnancy Portrait in Boston

Stacie and I had a lot of fun working together in her home the other day as a part of her Milestone portrait session with Claudia Kronenberg Photography. The very cool thing was that Stacie is a photographer too so it gave me an added incentive to be creative. The Milestone sessions are great because they document the pregnancy and first year of your baby's life and can be done in the privacy of your own home. This is what Stacie has to say after seeing these images: "Oh my gosh! Thank you Claudia. I LOVE THEM! You are awesome. You made me look so pretty and I love the light. That little room worked out well, huh? I am on the edge of my seat to see more!!! Thanks a million...They came out GREAT!" Thank you Stacie. I completely believe that the subject's willingness to work with the photographer makes a huge difference.

February 2009 Claudia Kronenberg Shoots Engagement Session in Boston

Kerry and Mike are getting married at The Mandarin Oriental in Boston next fall so we got together on a very cold day in Back Bay and did some engagement shots for their "Save the Date". They are going to be so much fun to work with and I'm excited to be shooting at the brand new Mandarin on Boylston Street, Boston and working again with the wonderful Hopple Popple team.

March 2009 Claudia Kronenberg Photography Republishes Boston Wedding Slideshow

This is the Boston wedding that convinced me that I wanted to work more in Boston. It was in June of 2006 at the Boston Public Library and I remember being so excited to work in Boston and since then I have pursued Boston weddings and have done many since. I spent my high school years living with my mother and sister on Beacon Hill, taking the T everyday out to Beaver Country Day, walking Newbury Street and eating Dim Sum in Chinatown. I love Boston and so it was natural for me to start working up there even though I live on Nantucket. I have a Boston apartment and am up in Boston as often as needed to meet with clients and wedding vendors and to photograph portraits, weddings and engagement sessions.
