Nantucket Beach Engagement Portrait

A gorgeous Nantucket beach with incredible light and a beautiful couple in love...no more needs to be said.

We do complimentary engagement sessions with all our full package wedding clients. It's a great opportunity to loosen up in front of the camera and get a great informal portrait.

A Nantucket White Elephant Wedding

Siobhan and Will had the sweetest and most intimate Nantucket wedding this July. It is so much fun to photograph Nantucket weddings (and all weddings!) when the love between the couple is what it's all about. I love the White Elephant weddings because of the beauty of the location, the professionalism and warmth of the staff (ask for Samantha Hall) and the access to many wonderful Nantucket locations for photographs. I spoke to Siobhan's mother about the needlepoint pillow and she said she found it in downtown Nantucket right before the wedding. I love how people are so creative in the wedding details as well. Michael from Flowers on Chestnut is always a hit with our brides and grooms with his wonderful shop in town and his glowing personality. He's just loved all around town!

Nantucket Family Portraits: Are Your Kids Getting Younger?

'Tis the season for Nantucket family beach portraits and I know one thing: My kids (pictured in very last image during a family vacation on Tuckernuck) are not getting any younger! And I also know one other thing: Even if dad (or mom) is a photographer (who isn't these days?) he cannot take pictures of his own kids like we can! Smile. Honestly, a professional photographer should be able to take on kids' personalities, beach lighting and composition and give you back that little fast-zooming snippet of your kids' childhoods. And where else to take advantage of the gorgeous summery beauty than your favorite place in the world: Nantucket? I know you can take your own photos of the kids horsing around during your summer vacation but the quintessential Nantucket beach portrait is worth its weight in golden sunshine!
Pictured below are some of our portrait sessions from the past week. Just a cool tidbit: I have watched many kids grow up here on Nantucket and documenting them each summer is a real treat. As you can see I have my own kids and have been working with children and photography for close to twenty years.

A Few of My Favorites From a Nantucket Wedding

Lauren had always dreamed of a Nantucket wedding and this past June her dreams came true. These are some of my favorite shots from the day. Lauren got ready in a home on a quaint street in town rented by her mother where Brian left a beautiful little note and present. They were married at the 'Sconset Chapel and the groom and many of the groomsmen wore their dress blues. Maureen Sullivan of Nantucket Island Events did her usual spectacular job as their wedding planner, Michael from Flowers on Chestnut was their florist and the wedding reception was at the Summer House where Lauren was treated to a song sung by the guys with Sultans of Swing playing into the beautiful night. The cake was cut with Brian's saber. Brian, after already serving in Iraq, is now being deployed to Afghanistan and Lauren is in the Air Force. Thank you for serving our country and protecting our freedom.
